Thoughts from trip to England

Some quick notes from my recent trip to England:

  • Memo to the Caviar house at Copenhagen Airport: There is no such thing as the “Island of Scotland”. See that big mass of land below it, that’s called England.
  • Copenhagen security calm. Copenhagen airport calm. Flight calm. London = Chaos. Maybe I’m just getting used to a slower pace of life?
  • Spurs v Aalborg. Awful first half, totally inept. Great second half performance, and some good subs from Juande. Memo to the person in seat 27.24.107 – Denmark has a professional league, they’re not “part timers” with “jobs to go to tomorrow”. Aalborg did themselves proud.
  • Spurs v Birmingham. Pretty much a great performance until that ridiculous sending off. Birmingham are probably the most inept team I’ve seen play at White Hart Lane, and I saw Port Vale and Cardiff last year. It’s embarassing they scored 3 goals. At least Ledley and Ricardo Rocha are back for the reservers tonight.
  • Heathrow – Security is so stressful there. What’s the point in online check-in if “My scanner’s been broke for weeks”, and then they send you down the stairs to get a boarding pass?
  • Ah yes, those stairs. What is the point in all that security if you can freely wander down the stairs marked “Authorised Personnel Only” without so much as a challenge?
  • Memo to the Arabian guy in the toilet: Under the ONLY DAMN HAND DRYER IN THE PLACE is not a good place to stop, check your luggage and search for your passport. All those people swearing under their breath? It was at you.
  • Flight back to Copenhagen: An A321 with a new feature, a front mounted camera. For those of us used to the agency that comes with a flight simulator, it’s quite disconcerting to watch the front of the plane try to align with the runway in the dark and strong winds!

Aahh, much better.
